ITC Great Plains, LLC, a subsidiary of ITC Grid Development, LLC (a subsidiary of ITC Holdings Corp.), was established in 2006 to address a recognized need for investment in the transmission infrastructure in Kansas, Oklahoma and across the Great Plains region. Because Kansas and Oklahoma wish to develop their abundant wind resources, ITC Great Plains established operations in Topeka, Kan. in July 2006 to help strengthen and expand the transmission grid in Kansas, Oklahoma, and throughout the Great Plains region. The company currently has transmission line projects under development in Kansas and Oklahoma.
